Basic SMA OpCon/xps Training

Prerequisites: Windows server administration skills, basic Windows
navigational skills

Target Group/Audience: Network/system administrators/computer operators

Synopsis: The two-day Basic SMA OpCon/xps Training Seminar is intended for new or novice SMA OpCon/xps users and includes:

  • A Product Overview Presentation: Discusses how to enter, review, update, and modify data in SMA OpCon/xps
  • Hands-On Student Exercises
  • SMA OpCon/xps Architecture and Administration œ Demonstrates how to manage SAM, LSAM, and U/I as well as how to administer schedules, calendars, users, security, etc.

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will:

  • Have an overall understanding of the components of SMA OpCon/xps and how they work together.
  • Be able to build, run, monitor and change schedules as needed.

Advanced Training Seminar

Prerequisites: Windows server administration skills, SMA OpCon/xps
Operator/Administrator course or at least 6 months experience
using SMA OpCon/xps

Target Group/Audience: Experienced SMA OpCon/xps users, Database Administrators, Computer Support Analysts, System Support Specialists

Synopsis: The SMA OpCon/xps two-day Advanced Training Seminar provides experienced SMA OpCon/xps personnel with advanced information about SMA OpCon/xps‘ functions and features, geared toward optimizing automated operations.

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will:

  • Have a better understanding of how SMA OpCon/xps can interface with other products such as Unisys Single Point Operation (SPO) or HP OpenView to provide advanced automation in operations.
  • Understand how SMA OpCon/xps security and auditing can be used to prevent unauthorized access to SMA OpCon/xps data and track any authorized changes that are performed.
  • Be able to use SMA OpCon/xps tokens to make variable substitutions in jobs started by the SAM.
